Sport Life and the Sport Club

Description of the Sport Club

Sport Club is an organization formed by students motivated by a common interest in a particular sport or activity. It offers members a chance to develop their knowledge and skill to a greater degree through organized practices, clinics, and competition. There are various kinds of sport played in our University. Each of the sports will differ in its emphasis toward competition, recreation, instruction, or a combination of these.

Membership in the clubs is open to all AUK students, faculty, and staff regardless of skill level. Take advantage of the opportunity to either participate in a familiar activity or to learn a new sport! You probably can ask what is the sport for at the university?

First and foremost, the sporting context provides a valuable meeting ground, and encourages friendly encounters, at many different levels, between the University and the neighboring Universities as well as with similar institutions all over the world. At a time when the intellectual content of academic studies is ever more weighty and complex, sport offers a welcome counterbalance not only for students, but also for all members of the university community.

At a personal level sport enables the body to assume its rightful role in the harmonious development of the personality, and in a wider social context sport offers an excellent opportunity for integration into the community.
