Dear Prospective Student,

Thank you for your interest in the programs at the American University in Kyrgyzstan.

As you may know, AUK is known for its academic and English programs that embrace social, international, economic, and business issues that confront many of the complex issues facing the Kyrgyz Republic. What you may not know is that at AUK we offer you an opportunity to acquire professional and marketable skills: skills that are needed in today's increasingly competitive job market. It is because of this, that our graduates are presented with a wide range of career opportunities upon graduation.

Presently, we have alumni working at Eridan Corporation, The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan, Kumtor, The Ministry of Finance, the Kyrgyz White House and many other organizations within the public and private sector. Our alumni participate in decision-making processes that allow them to put their education to practical use developing public policy and business strategies.

This year AUK offers the following programs: British and American Studies, Sociology, Psychology, Economics, Journalism, International Relations, Austrian-German Studies, Kyrgyz Ethnology, Software Engineering and Business Administration. In addition, AUK will be offering Political Science this fall.

Individuals wishing to be considered for admissions must submit their complete applications and other accompanying materials by the application deadline of June 29, 2002. Tests such as the TOEFL, Mathematics, or departmental exams will be administered during the week of July 5th through the 9th. Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply for early admissions. Please consult the Admissions Office for further details.

Please note that the Admissions Office must receive all items, including a 300 som application fee before the application can be sent to the Admissions Committee for review and processing. Please do not forget to include your personal statement. We strongly recommend that you visit us for an interview and visit our campus to meet with our instructors to discuss the various programs offered at AUK.
