| The Sociology program at AUK provides students with a solid foundation in sociological research and theory, and prepares graduates for work in variety of academic and professional careers. In addition, it offers a foundation in qualitative and quantitative research methods (such as survey research, interviewing, case studies, observation, and secondary data analysis) that will enable them to pursue careers in social work, education, business, marketing, governmental organiza-tions, and non-governmental organizations and groups. While all Sociology students must complete one set of core sociology courses and set of general education and language requirements, each student may select a series of elective courses that relate to his or her own research and professional interests. Students can pursue either a general sociology degree or a specialized degree in social research methods. The Sociology program at AUK is specifically designed to:
How to enter the sociology program Applications for the Sociology Program must be made to administration of the university from the 1st of June to the 1st of July, 2001. In addition to completing the general University application requirements by this date, students must submit a 250-word statement of purpose outlining their interest in Sociology to the Sociology Department, and must successfully complete a series of entrance exams given during the examination week beginning on the 3rd of July, 2001. Final decisions will be made at the end of this week.
